Over 100 years ago the Gervis Court was a typical Hotel in Bournemouth,
family run hotel/ boarding house originally called "Leicester House" . On
Sept 7th 1895 Lady Harriet Ponsonby and her maid plus Mrs General Faber and
Mrs Morry were in residence. We have been established for a long
time! Please check out our tariff page for more details. When Lady Ponsonby
came there would have been only an odd carriage here and there, now you can
park here at the hotel an easy walk to the town without parking problems.

Bournemouth did not exist until Lewis Tregonwell built a house in 1810 at
the mouth of the river Bourne on the wasteland between Poole and
Christchurch. Here Captain Tregonwell could watch not only for England’s
enemies but the hordes of smugglers. The pine air was renown in Victorian
times for it's health giving properties. Bed and breakfast in Bournemouth
has to be at the Gervis Court Hotel. A splendid Bournemouth hotel,
Bournemouth was and still is the "Formula 1" of seaside resorts. So if you
have never been before now is the time to try it

Corfe Castle is
one of the finest castle sites in the South of England while Poole boasts
the largest natural harbour in the Northern hemisphere.Dorset's topography
is varied. In the east, most land is low lying, with extensive heathlands.
The centre of Dorset is chalk downland, with extensive rivers and streams, leading to the west of Dorset which is more hilly, with a rich landscape of woodland and small fields. Kingston Lacy near Wimborne is run by the National Trust, as is both Hardy's Cottage (the birthplace of the author) and Max Gate (the author's later home) near Dorchester.
