Sam the Gervis Court Hotel cat         Sam the Gervis Court Hotel cat

Above on the left is George (the evil one)          Centre is Sam with Jess                        HRH Sam

Sam- The pampered pet of the Gervis Court Hotel. A quick stroke and a little caring and Sam will be your friend for life, especially if food is involved. He is rather choosy in his preferred gastronomic selection and usually gets what he wants. In the summer Sam likes nothing better than to find a sheltered bush to lie under and gently watch the Bournemouth world go by, it's a tough life being a cat. Sam is very pleased to announce that he will have his picture taken (digitally of course) with you when you book in to see him. Please let him know when you wish to make an appointment with him so that he can make the necessary arrangements. For good quality accommodation in Bournemouth ring the Gervis Court now to arrange a time.  01202 556871

Renowned for his ability to sleep most of the day. When Sam is on the prowl all the squirrels, magpies, mice and magpies in Dorset had better watch out.  Occasionally he finds time to hide from his dreaded enemy "George" who drops in from time to time from a nearby hotel just to show Sam who really is the boss in the world hierarchy of cats. Sam has so far managed to keep his amazing good looks by making a sharp exit when George calls. Please feel free to ask for Sam when you stay at the Gervis Court Hotel as he is more than happy for a bit of your pampering and stroking, tickling, oohing and ahhing. Provided it does not of course conflict with his meal times. Tel 01202 5568712 or e-mail... enquiries@gerviscourthotel.co.uk

June 2008..........A poor little rabbit finds itself towered over by Sam, as Sam decides that he must cat a rabbit  to play with, luckily he was found before anything nasty could happen to him and he was released back into the wild.

......A certain young lady (Miss Cope) and Teddy, her best friend came to pay a visit to Sam, Sam was elusive for most of the time and just wanted to sleep and keep out of the way. Unfortunately for this little lady she had a bout of the dreaded chicken pox for a few days. Sam sends his best regards to her and hope she is well now

August 2007 Weightloss

He has lost some weight recently and now is considerably lighter than he ever was. He looks good, and has an elf like look about him. (well, we think so anyway)

Sam is off his food at the moment.

He nags and nags until he is given some food, then when it is put in front of him he turns his nose up and wanders off, only to return a while later to give his food bowl a good stare and then some severe eyeball nagging takes place. We have tried changing the brand but to no avail. Pawing of the cupboard door is another weapon in his armoury to try to convince us that he is hungry. One of the benefits of his behaviour is that he is losing some weight (which isn't such a bad thing for him) as he will benefit from being slimmer. Any comment from anyone who would like to offer any suggestions as to his behaviour??  Send them to enquiries@gerviscourthotel.co.uk  Ref. Sam

...........Young Lauren decided to make Sam her friend when she stayed with her parents recently. Perhaps his recent dalliance with a married woman has sent him back into the arms of a pretty younger woman. Young Lauren spent quite a lot of her time with him. and was particularly amused by the his lack of tail. No doubt that is unusual but no-one seems to mind. Sam is planning ahead for a very restful and lazy summer, he really like lying on the hammock cover in the garden in full  sunshine. ( if there is no car convertible roof to lie on ) Maybe Lauren will come back to see him soon. Sam says "hi" Lauren

..........Sam and a married woman!!..........Sam has found a new playmate in Sharon, a very nice young lady who was celebrating her 1st wedding anniversary on 2nd July. Sharon thinks Sam is great, but was a little worried when she found him asleep on the soft top of her convertible car. Thought he might mark it. (but as everyone will acknowledge, Sam knows which side of his bread is buttered, and likes a quiet life)  Sharons husband it appears is allergic to cats so kept out of Sams way. (We like the oriental style flower in the hair Sharon)

...............A big hi to Laura from http://www.infotel.co.uk/ (owner of one very battered Gixxer and one slightly newer VFR400NC30!!) to use Laura's own words. Sam thinks she's a nice lady, and she seemed very interested in him and if Laura ever comes down to Bournemouth Sam says that she can feed him his favourite cat food (Whiskas) hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

...............Poor old Sam was found  injured over the New Year, with a suspected broken bone in his tale. Unfortunately he's not a happy chappie at the moment. Nervous and rather apprehensive but welcome of a comforting stroke, regardless. A few more days rest will hopefully cure him and put him back on the road to recovery. Poor Sam had to have his tail amputated due to the accident, he was not a happy cat for a couple of weeks but is OK now, we tease him by the name of "Stumpy" now and again. He doesn't seem to mind too much, now that he is a Manx cat, and with a lot of care and affection he will be back to his old self.

................ A new playmate (Hector) from sunny Spain "y viva Espana" has travelled from Cartagena  Murcia just to help feed Sam, and as it's winter here he needs lots of delicious breakfasts. Young Hector is happy and willing to oblige in this never ending task. Hector's knowledge of cat talk is exceptional and they communicate brilliantly. Hector has promised to teach Sam some key Spanish words and expressions if Sam ever decides to go for his holidays in sunny Spain. Young Hector had to leave Sam's side for a while to go for an adult excursion to Stonehenge, poor Sam was rather lonely without him. ................His lordship Sam is spotted , his 4 little paws glued to the road outside the hotel as (yes oh loyal readers, you've guessed it ) George eyeballs him from under a car, and the poor little luv was petrified, frozen in a moment of terror. His green eyes the size of saucers. Poor old George had to be chased away (giggling) before Sam would come back and accept a little bit of worshipping from a lovely little 10 year old girl who was paying a visit.

Sam says hi to Miss Hammond for looking after him on her visit to Bournemouth

................Emergency helicopters, fire engines, night vision goggles were all needed in the recent fruitless search to find Sam as he didn't turn up for his breakfast (very unusual). Fortunately he turned up in the garage later in the day, looking rather sheepish, but rest easy dear readers he is OK, and non the worse for his adventure (though my motorbike seat is covered with grubby cat paw prints) hmmm.

................ HRH Sam has found a new place to bask, in the hot August sunshine here in sunny sunny Bournemouth, on top of the Gervis Court Hotel tarpaulin cover of hotel trailer. He finds it a real pleasure, but it can become a little hot sometimes so he will will search out his Trachycarpus fortunei (see below) for cool serenity when that happens. He's heard Bournemouth misnamed "Bo Mo" lately , but only by fancy pants Grockels who think it's trendy. Who travel down from London, they read it once in a two bit broadsheet invented by an scribe who really should have know better,  no one else knows what they're talking about. So please don't use that term in front of Sam as he will probably wander off in disbelief.

................Sam hasn't been up to much (that we know of ) recently, but finds his daily naps very beneficial for his serene good looks and glossy fur coat. He's looking forward to the hot lazy summer days when he can lay under his favourite palm Trachycarpus fortunei

Old  news.......Sam goes missing, after a frantic search, Sam is found sunbathing close to the palm tree. It's tough at the top.            ps.... Sam says "hi" to the nice lady from the Trading Standards office.

Old  news................Sam falls off window sill............. while quietly minding his own business, Sam looks out onto the garden from the inside of the window, the treacherous George jumps up onto the outside of the window sill, giving poor Sam the latest shock of his furry little life. Screeches, screams and tumbling of cat onto the hard floor later, giving poor Sam a wake up call with regards to George's sense of humour.

Old news................Sam is currently recovering from being chased round his own garden by a King Charles Spaniel, a quick visit to the vet has solved his minor injury, he is now recuperating on his owners settee. Chocolates (for Jess) and pouches of Whiskas are welcome.
